Find Your Perfect Fit

UK sizing for polo shirts, sweaters, hoodies and trousers โ€” with fit tips so you order right the first time.

๐Ÿ’ก

Our golden rule

When in doubt, size up. If your measurement sits between two sizes, or you prefer a relaxed, comfortable fit, choose the larger size. It's far easier to roll up a sleeve than to force a shirt that's too tight โ€” and it helps you avoid returns.

1Polo Shirts, Sweaters & Hoodies

All upper-body styles use standard UK men's/unisex sizing. Measure around the fullest part of your chest, with arms relaxed at your sides.

Polo Shirts

Regular fit
UK SizeChest (in)Chest (cm)Fit
XS32โ€“34"81โ€“86cmSlim
S35โ€“37"89โ€“94cmSlim
M38โ€“40"97โ€“102cmRegular
L41โ€“43"104โ€“109cmRegular
XL44โ€“46"112โ€“117cmRelaxed
XXL47โ€“49"119โ€“124cmRelaxed
3XL50โ€“52"127โ€“132cmRelaxed
๐Ÿ‘• Polo tip: Polos are cut close to the body. If your chest measures 40โ€“41", split the difference by sizing up to L for a shirt you can comfortably tuck in and move in.

Sweaters & Jumpers

Regular fit
UK SizeChest (in)Chest (cm)Fit
XS33โ€“35"84โ€“89cmSlim
S36โ€“38"91โ€“97cmSlim
M39โ€“41"99โ€“104cmRegular
L42โ€“44"107โ€“112cmRegular
XL45โ€“47"114โ€“119cmRelaxed
XXL48โ€“50"122โ€“127cmRelaxed
๐Ÿงถ Sweater tip: Knitwear is worn over a shirt or tee, so allow 1โ€“2" extra room versus your bare chest measurement. Between M and L? Go L for effortless layering.

Hoodies & Sweatshirts

Regular/Oversized fit
UK SizeChest (in)Chest (cm)Fit
XS34โ€“36"86โ€“91cmRegular
S37โ€“39"94โ€“99cmRegular
M40โ€“42"102โ€“107cmRegular
L43โ€“45"109โ€“114cmRoomy
XL46โ€“48"117โ€“122cmRoomy
XXL49โ€“51"124โ€“130cmOversized
3XL52โ€“54"132โ€“137cmOversized
๐Ÿงฅ Hoodie tip: Hoodies run true to size but are meant to be worn loose. If you like a baggier streetwear look, or plan to layer over a jumper, size up one from your usual polo/tee size.

2Trousers & Joggers

UK trouser sizes are based on waist measurement in inches. Measure around your natural waistline โ€” where your trousers normally sit โ€” not sucked in.

Trousers / Chinos / Joggers

Waist sizing
UK SizeWaist (in)Waist (cm)Hip (in)
2828"71cm35"
3030"76cm37"
3232"81cm39"
3434"86cm41"
3636"91cm43"
3838"97cm45"
4040"102cm47"
๐Ÿ‘– Trouser tip: If you measure 33", don't round down to a 32 โ€” choose 34. Waistbands don't stretch as much as knitwear, so a snug trouser is uncomfortable all day, while a slightly looser one is an easy belt fix.

3How to Measure Yourself

Use a soft tape measure, wear light clothing, and keep the tape snug but not tight.

๐Ÿ“

Chest

Wrap the tape around the fullest part of your chest, under the arms and across the shoulder blades.

๐ŸŽฏ

Waist

Measure around your natural waistline, roughly an inch above your belly button, where trousers sit.

๐Ÿ“

Hip

Measure around the widest part of your hips and seat, keeping the tape level all the way round.

๐Ÿง

Inseam

Measure from the crotch seam down to the bottom of the ankle along the inside of the leg.

4Stuck Between Two Sizes?

Always round up. A slightly bigger fit is comfortable and forgiving; a slightly small one restricts movement, shrinks further after washing, and is the #1 reason for returns.

Chest 38โ€“39" โ†’ Choose L, not M

Especially for hoodies and sweaters worn over other layers.

Waist 33" โ†’ Choose 34, not 32

Woven trousers have almost no stretch โ€” always round up on waist size.

Broad shoulders/athletic build โ†’ Size up

Chest charts assume an average build; go one size up if you're muscular or broad-shouldered.

Prefer a relaxed, oversized look โ†’ Size up

All our fit notes above assume a true-to-size fit โ€” go up one size for a looser silhouette.

5Quick Answers

What if I'm exactly between two sizes?

Always choose the larger size. It's more comfortable and gives you flexibility for washing shrinkage and layering.

Do these sizes match EU or US sizing?

These are UK sizes. UK and US men's sizing generally match; EU sizing typically runs one size larger in label (e.g. UK M โ‰ˆ EU 50).

Will cotton items shrink after washing?

Cotton polos, sweaters and hoodies can shrink up to 3โ€“5% on first wash. Sizing up gives you a buffer โ€” always wash cold and avoid tumble drying on high heat.

Still unsure of your size?

Compare your measurements to a well-fitting item you already own, or get in touch with us before ordering โ€” we're happy to help you pick the right size.

All measurements are approximate and may vary slightly by style. Remember: when between sizes, size up.
